Our Capitol Building (Virtual Program)

Philip Devlin will examine the history, architecture, and significance of America’s Capitol Building in this virtual presentation. Many interesting and little known stories and incidents in American history center around this remarkable structure, the design of which—like most of Washington D.C.’s buildings—has its roots in the Classical world. Philip Devlin has a BA from UCONN and a MALS from Wesleyan University. He is a retired teacher who taught English, History, and Latin at Haddam-Killingworth High School.
