Many East Lyme residents are fascinated and curious of the work being done on the new 161 Interchange. The scope of the project is immense and is unprecedented in the history of CT DOT. During this presentation, experts will describe the environmental and engineering complexities that are being undertaken, such as protecting wetlands, waiting for nesting owls to vacate, creating a new bridge and the planting of hundreds of native plant species- trees, shrubs and perennials.
