Elementary Students:
Read to Hazel the Therapy Dog
Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 in the Children’s Room through June 4.
Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:oo in the Children’ Room starting July 12 through August 9.
For readers ages 6 and up.
Children gain confidence by reading aloud to a non-judgmental, friendly therapy dog! Nicole Goolsbey and Hazel are volunteers with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Hazel is three years old. She loves water, toys, and getting lots of pets.
Sign up each week for a ten minute time slot with Hazel. To allow more children to read to Hazel, sign ups are limited to two weeks at a time.

Tuesday: Storytime Fun

Read, sing, and dance with Miss Rebecca during this popular program designed for children ages 0-5. This fun program includes books, flannel board stories, fingerplays, puppets, and parachute play.
Registration not required.
April 30: Poppi’s Puppets presents an interactive puppet show.
May 7: Dental Health Storytime with special guest Maureen Joiner from Children’s Dental Associates.
Wednesday: Baby Sign and Sing
Wednesdays mornings, 10:30 to 11:00 in the Children’s Room through May 22.
For ages 0-3, older siblings always welcome.
Learn baby sign language with Miss Sarah at this fun, interactive storytime! Sing, play, dance and learn through stories, rhymes, puppets and songs.

Thursday: Sing & Stomp
Thursday mornings, 10:30 to 11:00
in the Community Center Activity Room
through May 23.
Come to our weekly song and dance party for children ages 0-5 and their grown-ups!
Sing & Stomp is a noisy half hour of songs, dances, and parachute play. Not only is this program fun, but it is also good for you. Dancing is a great way to develop coordination, explore rhythm, build spatial awareness, and practice social skills.
Poppi’s Puppets

Local creator and star of “Poppi’s Planet” on YouTube joins us at our Storytime Fun this day! Poppi will present an interative puppet show that is sure to delight audience members of all ages.
Dental Health Storytime

Learn all about how to take care of your teeth with Maureen Joiner of Children’s Dental Associates of New London County. Ms. Joiner makes brushing fun as the children take turns brushing the teeth of her teddy bear.
Pajama Storytime for All Ages

Wear your pajamas to the Library! Miss Rebecca will tell bedtime stories and lead a sing-along. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Monthly Take and Make Craft Kits
Craft kits are designed by our staff for ages 4 - 8 to complete at home. They are available starting the first Friday of each month while supplies last at the Children’s Library Desk.
